GIFT OF VISION

The third Sight4Eyes eye camp took place on December 27, 2025 and marked an exciting new chapter for the foundation. This year, 128 patients were screened, 34 cataract surgeries were performed, and 178 eyeglasses were distributed. As the Sight4Eyes Foundation has grown with the incredible support of our community, sponsors, and partners, I’ve realized that restoring sight is the beginning of something bigger: giving people the opportunity to learn, grow, and build a brighter future. This year, we were able to extend that commitment by providing three educational scholarships to three deserving girls: Sachi Thacker, Vaibhavi Vaghela, and Dhruvi Majethiya. Three Scholarships, Three Stories

One of the most meaningful parts of this year’s camp was being able to support these three girls in their educational journeys.

Vaibhavi Vaghela is currently in 12th grade and has faced tremendous hardship. After losing her father, she took on the responsibility of helping support her mother, who works as house help, as well as her brother. Despite these challenges, Vaibhavi never allowed her circumstances to interfere with her education. She plans to pursue a B.Com. degree, and the Sight4Eyes scholarship will help make her college education possible. Her determination and belief that everyone should continue pursuing their dreams, regardless of their circumstances, deeply inspired me.

Sachi Thacker is an exceptionally bright student who scored an incredible 95% on her India board examinations. Passionate about science, Sachi hopes to continue her education in the field and pursue her goals in college. The Sight4Eyes scholarship will help support her college journey and give her the opportunity to continue building on her academic achievements.

Dhruvi Majethiya is entering 10th grade and earned an impressive 80% in 9th grade. Although she was determined to continue her studies, her family could not afford the educational materials she needed for 10th grade. The Sight4Eyes scholarship helped provide those materials, allowing Dhruvi to continue her education and reach her full potential.

Supporting these three girls reminded me that giving the gift of sight is only one way we can help someone see a brighter future. Through these scholarships, Sight4Eyes was able to give the gift of opportunity as well.

100 Eyeglasses Through Ainak

This year, Ainak donated 100 presecription eyeglasses to Sight4Eyes. This partnership allowed us to expand our support beyond cataract surgeries, reading glasses, and eye drops and provide even more patients with the vision care they needed. Previously, when a patient needed prescription glasses, the doctor would contact us, and we would cover the cost of the glasses while the doctor provided the prescription. With Ainak’s support, the process became much quicker: the doctor could provide the prescription, and the patient could choose a frame from the donated eyeglasses. This made the process more convenient for both patients and doctors while allowing us to provide prescription glasses more efficiently.

My Role at the Eye Camp

After helping with our first two eye camps, this year felt much more familiar. I was fully prepared to jump in wherever I was needed. I helped call patients when it was their turn, served tea and biscuits, kept track of patient and surgery numbers, and assisted Dr. Upadhyay throughout the camp.

Although the process felt more routine this year, seeing how much Sight4Eyes had grown made the experience even more rewarding. What started as an effort to provide cataract care has grown into something much bigger: with new partnerships, new fundraising ideas, educational scholarships, and more ways to support our community!

The People Behind the Numbers

Every year, the people I meet at the eye camp remind me why Sight4Eyes exists. Behind every number is a person whose life can be changed by something as simple as clearer vision, access to education, or an opportunity they may not have otherwise had.
